HKCS HIMIG presents

Mapayapang Himig

Come join us on this magical evening to celebrate the warm feeling that Pasko (Christmas) brings!

St. Bernadette Parish and Himig Kabataan Cultural Society proudly present “Mapayapang Himig” (“Peacful Melody”), HKCS’s 3rd annual Christmas conocert and first collaboration with St. Bernadette Parish. The concerts features Christmas tunes in English and Filipino languages, performed by HKCS’s very own HIMIG.

Tickets are available for $25 each, and can be purchased by calling or sending a text to 778-751-4181, or through contacting a HIMIG member.

All proceeds go towards renovation of the St. Bernadette parish hall. We hope to see you there!

We look forward to sharing these special moments with you <3 Furthermore, as we continue to reflect upon the events of Lapu-Lapu Day, we hope these performances can bring light into a time of darkness. Though we must remain respectful of the tragedy that has occurred, HKCS refuses to let fear dwindle our love and pride for our country, its culture, and its music. We hope to see you at any of these events!

Himig Kabataan Cultural Society is truly honoured to represent the Filipino community in singing the national anthems alongside Arielle Tuliao at the Vancouver Whitecaps game on Saturday, May 3rd. — We have made the decision to carry on with performing as it demonstrates the resilience of the Filipino community in this time of grief. As we continue to reflect, HKCS aspires to provide hope and be an inspiration to build something meaningful from the sorrow. HKCS performs in honour of the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival Tragedy and their loved ones. May the spirit of the Filipino community stay alive through the beauty of music. 🇵🇭 ❤️

On behalf of all the members of the Himig Kabataan Cultural Society, our hearts go out to those affected by the tragic incident at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival. We offer our prayers for the repose of the souls who have passed, and we extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones. We also pray for the health, healing, and comfort of those who have been injured or traumatized. The Lapu-Lapu Block Party was created to honor Datu Lapu-Lapu and to symbolize cultural harmony in British Columbia. Our choir, composed of second and third generation Filipino-Canadian teens, embrace and share the Filipino culture through music and art. As Filipinos, we stand together, support one another, and mourn together especially through difficult times like this.
