On behalf of Himig Kabataan Cultural Society and its singers, we are immensely grateful to be given this opportunity to share our voices on the global stage for the very first time. Colombia is a vibrant country with such beautiful culture and people, and we felt truly welcome by those who arranged our stay.

On behalf of all the members of the Himig Kabataan Cultural Society, our hearts go out to those affected by the tragic incident at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival. We offer our prayers for the repose of the souls who have passed, and we extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones. We also pray for the health, healing, and comfort of those who have been injured or traumatized. The Lapu-Lapu Block Party was created to honor Datu Lapu-Lapu and to symbolize cultural harmony in British Columbia. Our choir, composed of second and third generation Filipino-Canadian teens, embrace and share the Filipino culture through music and art. As Filipinos, we stand together, support one another, and mourn together especially through difficult times like this.
